First Trailer for Steve Starring Cillian Murphy

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Cillian Murphy returns to Netflix with the film Steve. The latest work from the Oscar-winning Oppenheimer star will premiere next month at the Toronto International Film Festival and will be released on Netflix in October. The first trailer for Steve was unveiled just a few hours ago.

Directed by Tim Mielants, Steve is adapted from a novel by Max Porter and marks the first project from Murphy’s production company, Big Things Films. Porter’s novel depicts 24 hours in the life of a man named Steve in the 1990s—a reformatory director who strives to educate his pupils while grappling with his own mental health struggles. The film also stars Tracey Ullman, Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù, and Emily Watson.

Porter adapted the screenplay for Steve from his own novel and serves as the film’s co-producer alongside Murphy. Mielants will direct. Murphy and Porter have previously collaborated on the stage play Grief Is the Thing with Feathers and the short film All of This Unreal Time.

Steve will be released on Netflix on October 3.
